Visitor Guidelines for Reverence and Care
Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery is a sacred place of rest, prayer, and remembrance. We ask all who enter to honor the dignity of this consecrated ground and the loved ones entrusted to our care by observing the following guidelines:
Prohibited Items & Conduct
In the spirit of reverence on sacred grounds, please maintain a quiet and prayerful presence at all times.

Kindly respect the privacy of others, especially those attending funeral or committal services.

Language and behavior should reflect the sacredness of this space; disruptive or disrespectful conduct is not appropriate.

Out of respect for the sacred nature of the cemetery and the safety of all visitors:

The possession or use of alcohol, illegal drugs, or controlled substances on cemetery grounds is strictly prohibited.

Weapons of any kind, including firearms, are not permitted on the premises, except as authorized by law enforcement.

Any behavior that is disruptive, unsafe, or inconsistent with the peaceful and prayerful environment of the cemetery is not allowed.
Grave Offerings
Visitors are welcome to leave small tokens of remembrance in honor of their loved ones. To preserve the dignity, safety, and beauty of the cemetery for all:

Permitted Items: Fresh or artificial flowers in approved containers, small mementos of personal significance, and seasonal decorations.

Placement: Items should be placed securely and within the immediate grave space, without encroaching on adjacent plots or walkways.

Respect for Grounds: Glass, breakable items, or objects that may pose a hazard to visitors or staff are discouraged.

Please refrain from candles, balloons, solar lights, decorative rocks, or items with shepherd hooks which may damage equipment and disturb other graves.

Items that are sharp, spiked, or capable of puncturing or causing injury are not permitted on or around gravesites.

Maintenance: Offerings that become weathered, damaged, or unsightly may be respectfully removed by cemetery staff.

Visitors are not allowed to dig, trench, or plant any materials directly onto a gravesite.

Seasonal Clean-Up: Decorations may be limited or removed during designated maintenance periods or liturgical seasons.

Flowers are removed every Thursday to allow for regular grounds maintenance.
Care for the Grounds
We invite you to help us preserve the beauty and dignity of the cemetery.

Please dispose of all trash properly or take it with you when you leave.

When visiting graves, kindly walk between burial spaces when possible.

Please follow all posted guidelines regarding decorations and visiting hours (8:30 AM – 4:30 PM).
Vehicles and Safety

For the safety of all, the speed limit is 10 MPH. Please drive slowly and attentively.

Remain on paved roadways and do not drive or park on the grass.

Be mindful of pedestrians and those who may be grieving.

Please secure personal belongings and lock vehicles.
Children and Families

Children are welcome and encouraged to learn reverence for this sacred place.

We ask that they remain under close supervision and refrain from running, playing, or climbing on monuments.
Animals

Only trained service animals are permitted to preserve the dignity and safety of the grounds.
Photography

We understand the desire to remember loved ones; however, photography requires prior permission from the cemetery office and the family or plot owner.

Please do not photograph funerals or other visitors without prior permission.
