Interment Choices
Interments are available in the following options:
1. Graves
Interment in a grave remains the most widely used form of burial. Graves are generally of two types, single depth or double depth, allowing the burial of one or two persons full body. In most areas of the cemetery both single depth and double depth graves are permitted. Lawn level markers are the standard. Future care of all graves is included in the purchase price. Single Depth grave packages start at $3,820.00 and include the Right of Easement, (1) standard burial vault, (1) opening/closing and recording fees, and endowment care. The Double Depth grave packages start at $6,170.00 and include the Right of Easement, (2) standard burial vaults, (2) openings/closings and recording fees, and endowment care.
2. Crypts
Crypts are available for above ground burial either in interior or exterior settings. There are two mausoleums, Our Mother of Sorrows Mausoleum and Most Holy Redeemer Mausoleum. The Crypt packages include the Right of Easement, endowment care, opening/closing and recording fees, crypt plate, setting fee and vase. Crypt packages begin at $12,200.00.
3. Niches
Niches for the placement of cremated remains above ground are either in interior or exterior settings. Interior niche packages start at $3,125.00. Exterior niche packages start at $2,860.00. All Niche packages include the Right of Easement, endowment care, opening/closing and recording fees, niche plate, setting fee and vase.
4. Burial of Cremated Remains
Cremated remains may be buried in a cremation garden or in areas of the cemetery deemed suitable. These packages include the Right of Easement, endowment care, urn vault and the opening/closing and recording fees. These packages start at $1,725.00. (Some packages do include the marker, setting fee and marker care).
Package Plans (All cemetery costs in a single price)
Package Plans may be customized to meet the families wishes whether the purchase is Advance Planning or a purchase at the time of a death. The type of grave selected and the options chosen will determine the final cost of your Package Plan.
Advance Planning packages can be arranged for now on low monthly payments with no interest and a down payment of as little as 10%.
Lot Holder Rights
Graves and crypts are conveyed by an Easement which gives the purchaser, not direct ownership, but an exclusive and permanent right of use. Upon the death of the purchaser, ownership rights automatically descend to direct blood heirs equally unless the rights are specifically assigned to a particular heir. The spouse of the original purchaser always has a dower right of burial ahead of other heirs. Where a non-blood heir is to be buried, permission of other blood heirs is required, and families are encouraged to obtain these permissions in advance of need and place them on file at the cemetery. Removals from graves or crypts may be made only with the permission of the purchaser of the holding or his / her heirs, and the nearest relation(s) of the person to be removed.
Return and Exchange Policy
Any unused grave or crypt purchased from Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Cemetery, may be exchanged or returned. The return is subject to some restrictions and each case must be reviewed before a refund is given. This policy protects families if conditions change or especially if there is a relocation.
